Russia dominated the first round. Spain, eliminated in Pairs BC4

Teams and Pairs were the main actors in the first day of competition with Russia on the head of all categories. Russians took advantage in all their games, making a big difference against their opponents. Especially successful was Aleksandr Legostaev in Pairs BC3.
Also Great Britain, Belgium, Netherlands and Spain did an excellent tournament open. The british won all the games they played (teams and pairs BC4), like Netherlands and Belgium. For Spain, it was not only wins today. In Pairs BC4, the local team was eliminated because of their two defeats.
Tomorrow will be the start of individual competition with David Smith, Daniel Pérez and Greg Polychronidis as main favourites. Teams and pairs categories are preparing their best matchs in this first round, facing up the top teams of each groups.
On the afternoon the competition celebrated his open ceremony, with all the teams presents on the practice court. Players showed their biggest smile when they saw and listen a local batucada opening the celebration with an exciting performance. What an exciting moment!
After the music, the Caparrots and the Bastoners made their performance. They are two sample from de local traditional culture.
Before the ending of the ceremony, Carles Muñoz, president of the organization committee, wanted to thanks volunteers, city hall and BISFed to "trust, one more time, with Federació Esportiva Catalana de Paralítics Cerebral to make this possible". Eloi Rovira, councilman of Sports and Youth of the city hall, wish good luck to all the athletes and specially to Àlex Trullas, local player from Sant Cugat.
