Great Britain show his potential with the Russians keep on pushing

Great Britain dominated the Boccia European Regional Open of Sant Cugat 2017 with 3 champions and 5 players in the podium. After the British, Russia showed their improvement arriving to three finals but they couldn't win none of them. Also Belgium made a great tournament, winning 2 categories.
David Smith won the title certifying why is he on the top position of the world ranking. He started with an awesome partial of 5-0, which it was impossible to come back for Mikhail Letnikov. The Russian made an excellent tournament but he had not any option in the final (11-0).
For the third and fourth position, Mikhail Gutnik defeated the favorite, number three of the world, the Dutch Daniel Perez (3-11).
No chance for Georgii Lakerbaia against Francis Rombouts (0-7). The Belgian has made an excellent competition, losing only one game in the tie break in the pool phase. Step by step, he dominated all the final.
More exciting was the game between Raul Martí and Bernd Meints. The dutch finally won for 2 points (4-6) and got the third place.
Close game in BC3 category with the final victory of the British Jamie McCowan against Aleksandr Legostaev (3-4). It was really exciting, a great match! It was one of the longest games in the finals, with all the public focused on it.
The champion brother, Scott McCowan, got the third position after defeating his compatriot Patrick Wilson (2-5). The emotional celebrations of both brothers have become famous in this event.
It was a surprise saw the Greek Marinos Gonias in the final because it was not expected. But he made a great tournament and he got it. But in the finals there are no friends, and Stephen McGuire took advantage from the beginning. He didn't give any option to his opponent, winning the final for 7-0.
Evie Edwards joins his parter in the podium, winning Laszlo Hegedüs for 2-3.
